I believe therapy is most meaningful when we’re willing to look beneath the surface. I help clients explore the root causes of their struggles, not just manage symptoms, so we can better understand the patterns shaping their lives. tailor strategies to fit your specific needs and how you’re experiencing the issue. I welcome engaged clients who are ready to do the work, ask thoughtful questions and dive deeper. Therapy with me is a partnership as we work side by side to create meaningful, lasting change.
I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) licensed in New York. I earned my Master of Science in Nursing from Saint John Fisher College.
I’m a dual-licensed psychotherapist (LMHC, LCAT) providing online therapy to adults across New York State.
My work integrates trauma-informed care with evidence-based methods including CBT, DBT, ACT, IFS-informed approaches, and psychodynamic therapy.
I work with adults who appear composed externally yet feel overwhelmed, anxious, burned out, or relationally stuck beneath the surface. Many of my clients are thoughtful, high-functioning individuals navigating demanding professional or personal roles who notice patterns they’re ready to understand and shift.
My style is warm, attuned, and thoughtfully direct. I value depth, clarity, and accountability. Our work focuses on strengthening emotional regulation, deepening insight, and refining relational patterns in ways that support sustainable, meaningful change.
If you’re seeking focused, depth-oriented therapy and are ready to engage thoughtfully in this process, I look forward to the possibility of working together.
I grew up in a family deeply rooted in the human services field—both of my parents dedicated their careers to helping others. Their compassion and commitment had a big influence on me, and it’s what ultimately shaped my own path. Before becoming a counselor, I spent several years working in law enforcement, where I gained a deep appreciation for the resilience and complexity of people’s lives. That experience inspired me to return to school and focus on helping others in a different way.
Vulnerability to hurt, disappointment, sadness, and grief are a normal part of the human experience. In trying to make sense of these struggles, we often turn them inward, forming painful beliefs about ourselves and the world that can shape our relationships and sense of self.
I believe that a genuine, authentic therapist-client relationship has the power to heal. I'm not looking to "fix" my clients, but instead become a fellow traveler in their therapeutic process. We will work collaboratively to identify and remove both conscious and unconscious barriers that may be keeping you stuck, moving you toward a life that is meaningful, authentic, and purposeful. This may involve offering new ideas and techniques, or identifying and shifting unhelpful patterns, transforming them into more adaptive behaviors. In this safe, judgment-free space, you can reconnect to who you truly are.
I completed my graduate studies at New York University's Silver School of Social Work and have worked in both private practice where I served adult individuals and couples, and community-based settings, focused on protecting families and strengthening secure attachments. These experiences have shaped my deep respect for the ways people adapt to early relational environments—and how those adaptations can later create both resilience and pain.
I work with individuals facing depression, anxiety, OCD, relational challenges, attachment wounds, family of origin issues, patterns rooted in early family dynamics and the intergenerational effects of trauma on parenting and relationships, including narcissistic abuse.
I hold a special interest in those impacted by the issues faced by adult children of alcoholics and dysfunctional families.
I’m a licensed clinical psychologist, published author, and executive coach with decades of experience helping people navigate career transitions, grief and loss, anxiety, and the impact of health conditions and illness. Having worked with college students and professionals from a variety of industries for years, I understand the pressure that comes with uncertainty and change—the constant decision-making, the need to appear strong even when you feel anything but, and the way personal challenges can shake everything you’ve built. My approach is rooted in helping you move through uncertainty with clarity and purpose, no matter what life throws your way.

I'm Steven, a clinical social worker providing therapy to a diverse group of adolescents and adults all throughout New York State. Many patients describe my therapeutic style as inviting, comforting, and analytic. I provide a compassionate space to share your rich history, explore your relationships, confront anxiety and trauma, and lead a more meaningful life. The first step to overcoming our pain is to speak it to a receptive listener. To begin therapy is to align with the part of you that wants to change for the better.
