Are you feeling overwhelmed by challenging experiences that hold you back from living a fulfilling life? You're not alone. Many of our struggles can significantly impact our daily well-being. Feeling stressed is a natural human emotion that helps us recognize and respond to potential threats. However, when these feelings becomes excessive and interferes with our daily life, it can be debilitating. Using a solution-focused approach, I focus on desired outcomes and meaningful change while offering specialized guidance in lifestyle shifts to help clients navigate life’s complexities.
Once I became a mother, I began to value my ability to listen intently and hold space for all dimensions of a person. My background as a storyteller has shaped how my conversations with clients are structured yet intuitive. My work experience as a director of social-emotional programming to providing 1:1 psychotherapy in private practice for almost a decade has allowed me to support individuals from an array of backgrounds. Most of all, learning how to re-parent my own innerchild after trauma has given me the compassion and insight to consistently help my clients change their lives.

Women typically come to me when they are feeling stuck at an impasse in their lives. They are often overwhelmed by thoughts that they are not where they “should” be in life which contributes to a cycle of comparing themselves to others and a low sense of self-worth. Many women describe feeling burnt out from always putting others first which leads to feelings of emptiness and dissatisfaction.
I hold a Bachelor's degree in Forensic Psychology and a Master's in Social Work, with 15 years of experience in the field—six of those in clinical practice. Throughout my career, I have worked with children, youth, adults, families, veterans, the elderly, marginalized and vulnerable populations, and individuals impacted by substance use. My diverse experience has deepened my commitment to providing compassionate, effective support tailored to each person's unique needs.
We often underestimate past experiences' effect on our personality, self-image, and current relational patterns. Together, we will bridge gaps between the past and present and identify the patterns of behavior, coping, and interpersonal functioning that no longer serve you. My approach to therapy is non-judgmental, empathic, and candid, with humoristic relief.
Feeling overwhelmed? Believe you aren't good enough? Dealing with grief/loss? Struggling to adjust to life challenges (health problems, career, college, infertility)? Experiencing relationship difficulties? Want to learn how to effectively communicate with others? I'm eager to hear your story. I'll encourage you to express your thoughts, feelings, and experiences at your own pace. From there, we will work together to identify problematic beliefs and behaviors impacting different aspects of your life with the goal of gaining a new perspective and using your strengths to create a healthy lifestyle.
My clinical training was in adult psychiatry at Columbia University Medical Center. I earned a Masters degree in Social Work from Florida International University and a PhD in Social Welfare from the City University of New York Graduate Center.
I specialize in working with adults who feel excluded in one way or another either at work, in their family, community, or society at large--immigrants, people of color, those with disabilities, LGBTQ+, etc. Even if you don't identify yourself in these ways, being treated as if you don't belong can impact parts of your life and I want to provide you support.
I generally assist adults with depression, anxiety, health problems, relationship issues, grief/loss, work stress, school issues, infertility, and parenting. My approach is warm, interactive and non-judgmental. I believe in collaborating with my clients to tailor a treatment plan to fit their unique needs. Depending on your goals in therapy, I generally incorporate a strength-based approach using cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, motivational interviewing techniques and/or psychodynamic approaches to help increase self-awareness, engage in problem solving skills and teach positive coping strategies.
