I am a Licensed Professional Counselor informed in the Biology of Trauma, Internal Family Systems, and EFT (tapping). I utilize a multifaceted approach to better match the needs of my clients. I work with individuals aged 14 and up along with couples. I believe that within all of us is the power of growth to build a life that is healthy and whole, starting with recognizing and accepting these same attributes within us. No matter what challenging situations life has dealt, there is a way to rise above what they caused and witness an existence of wellbeing and peace. I see it as an honor to help my clients reach this destination.
I am a licensed psychologist with over fifteen years of experience providing therapy in both Spanish and English. I earned my master’s degree in counseling psychology from Indiana University and my doctorate in counseling psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. My doctoral program emphasized multicultural competence and using research to inform practice. Therefore, I use an evidence-based, cultural and trauma-informed approach in therapy. I have worked with Veterans, women and men diagnosed with HIV/AIDS, women diagnosed with breast cancer, and individuals experiencing substance abuse, depression, anxiety, and relationship difficulties. I am licensed in the states of Texas and Iowa.

Something that stands out in regard to me is that I have gathered some valuable wisdom over the years from many excellent mentors and life experience as an educator, vocational ministry, raising my own family, and having worked with many gifted and compassionate people.
My clients describe me as understanding ("getting them as individuals"), caring and collaborative , and a safe place to share what they need to share.
You look like you have it together, but inside you're overwhelmed, anxious, and exhausted. You say yes when you want to say no, overthink everything, and feel guilty for putting yourself first. People-pleasing, perfectionism, and carrying everyone else’s needs have left you burned out.
If you're tired of performing calm while quietly falling apart, therapy can help. You do not have to keep carrying this alone.
