Hi, I'm Dr. Clay Connelly, but please just call me "Clay." I'm a licensed professional counselor with over 15 years of experience in mental health and wellness. I specialize in many areas, including anxiety, depression, anger management, and trauma recovery. In general, I'm passionate about helping individuals navigate life as a whole and improve their mental health and overall well-being.
Ever since I was a teenager I knew that one of my purpose in life was to help others. Also, I knew that one of my strengths is the capacity to connect with others.
Understanding the nature of our behaviors and the way we interpret life became a great challenge. I enrolled in Psychology School with a clear understanding of what I wanted professionally, but never imagined the profound and deep journey that I was about to begin.
A proud University of Central Florida graduate with a Master of Social Work, I have had a professional focus in various fields, including, child welfare, community mental health, the school system and intensive outpatient therapy. Much of this work has been centered on empowering youth, adults and families from diverse backgrounds and abilities. I currently work with children and adults navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and life transitions.
My name is Dr. Josh Waddell, DNP, PMHNP-BC, and I am an integrative psychiatric provider dedicated to healing through identifying root causes of illness. I believe true healing occurs when we understand and address the imbalances within a person’s life. My approach is holistic and individualized, incorporating medication management, psychotherapy, and complementary and alternative interventions.
I have over 15 years of experience in mental health, having worked as a case manager, therapist, and psychiatric nurse practitioner. My work has spanned a wide range of settings, from sitting at the bedside in hospital rooms, to outpatient clinics in rural areas of Tennessee and Florida.
I am a double graduate of Vanderbilt University, earning both my MSN and DNP with a focus in psychiatric mental health. I also hold a master’s degree in clinical mental health and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Tennessee Technological University.
In addition to my clinical practice, I serve as teaching faculty at Yale University in the PMHNP program and am the host of the podcast Mental Maps, where I explore the intersection of mental health, meaning, and integrative care.

We will work together to explore your concerns and goals, while I offer guidance and evidenced-based skills training to help you create positive change.
I am a licensed mental health counselor that is also National Board Certified.
