Are you seeking a deeper sense of satisfaction in your life? Do conflicted feelings often stand in the way of your happiness? With many years of experience as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I am dedicated to helping individuals navigate life's challenges and cultivating greater well-being.
A significant aspect of my practice involves Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a specialty that focuses on identifying and modifying negative thought patterns and behaviors. I believe in providing practical solutions that can be readily applied to the challenges of everyday life, empowering you to make tangible progress.
My approach centers on building upon your inherent strengths while exploring new perspectives on existing challenges. Having earned my degree from the esteemed Wurzweiler School of Social Work, I bring a depth of knowledge and a compassionate perspective to my practice. I work collaboratively with clients to explore their struggles and develop effective strategies for lasting positive change.
I want to help you help yourself. I believe everyone is capable of change and I will teach you skills to use everyday.
I think all people have a brilliant capacity to heal and connect with their innate self-worth. I create a warm and comforting space where you will feel seen and heard, and I will work collaboratively with you to identify your wishes for therapy.
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the states of New York, Colorado, and New Jersey, I've had the opportunity to work with children, teens, adults, couples, and families in various settings. While providing behavioral health supports, I've had the ability to partner through the process of healing wounds that serve as an impediment to wellness.
Within my practice, I utilize Brainspotting, mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, trauma focused, play therapy, and solution focused therapy to aid in reaching a state of homeostasis.
When I was growing up, I always thought I wasn’t dealt a good hand in life. I had family issues that would top any reality tv show to date. I often felt like there was no one I could really open up to and share my inner thoughts and feelings with. I was wearing “masks” before the pandemic, always smiling when deep down I wanted to cry. I tried therapy a couple times and it just didn’t work for me. I felt like I wasn’t understood, that I was being judged. I decided to give it another shot and found my match, a therapist that looked like me, that could relate to me and my struggle. It felt genuine and not forced. That’s what made me want to get into the field of Social Work. Now, with 8 years of professional experience, I live out my purpose every day as a guide to help people unlock the tools of empowerment that they already possess. Whatever the issue, (whether it be getting through everyday life, coming to terms with past traumas, getting over a bad break-up, parenting/abandonment issues, lack of self-esteem, or a host of other problems), my eclectic approach to therapy will allow you to embark on a journey of self-reflection, self-love, and self-care. I look forward to helping you find your inner peace while getting closer to your winning hand in life.

My name is Adriana Arteta and I have 11 years of experience. I have worked with many different populations and now I am focusing now on adult individual therapy.
As a licensed psychologist in New York and New Jersey, I offer remote individual psychotherapy to adults. My approach is collaborative, and you are an active partner in designing your personal goals. Based on my training and experience in a variety of treatment modalities, including CBT, DBT, and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, I use an integrative approach to help you reach your personal goals, which may involve learning skills to manage life’s difficulties and developing greater understanding of yourself.
I have more than 15 years of experience working in a wide variety of settings, including hospitals and schools. As a trained pianist and a Licensed Creative Arts Therapist, I also incorporate creative expression in my practice, and my speciality includes issues related to cultural diversity (e.g., LGBTQIA+, Asian American mental health, immigration). As a native of Japan, I am bilingual in Japanese and English, and offer services in both languages.
