I offer a calm, mindful, and collaborative approach to therapy, creating a space where clients feel respected, understood, and supported to achieve their wellness goals.
Mental health issues can be a daily struggle for many, just know that seeking treatment doesn't have to be. I am a licensed clinician with over 22 yrs of experience skilled in helping adults, adolescents, and families manage mood disorders, trauma, anxiety, and life transitions. My goal is to customize therapy, so that through support and education, you can develop insight, learn healthy skills and identify your inner strengths to live a happy and fulfilling life.
I am here to provide a warm, non-judgmental space where you can explore life's challenges. My background in clinical social work means I not only focus on your internal experiences, but also understand how family, community, social factors, and your health impact your well-being. I subscribe to a simple philosophy: you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to stand with you, offering support and new perspectives within the context of your unique world.
Welcome! And congratulations on taking an important step towards the life that you want to live. I know that it can be difficult or overwhelming to figure out what therapist might be a good fit for you. I help clients with a wide range of concerns or problems, including depression, anxiety, and adjustment to life transitions, and I specialize in working with clients who have experienced abuse, trauma, or grief. If you feel stuck by things that happened in your past, negative messages about yourself that you’ve internalized, or automatic behavior patterns that are no longer working for you, I can help.
Contact Information: Hello! Please feel free to contact me directly at [email protected] or through my confidential voicemail 908.391.0726 to schedule a free 15-minute consultation. I may have availability that my Headway booking calendar does not reflect. I would be happy to speak with you about working together. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (LAMFT). I offer counseling and therapy to individual adults and couples, and I sometimes work with families that include adolescent members. I am also an E-RYT-500 multi-style yoga teacher and educator, as well as a RPYT (prenatal/postpartum) instructor and Lamaze trained childbirth educator. Additionally, I hold a certificate in Positive Psychology, and my research in this area has been published by the American Psychological Association in their APA Handbooks in Psychology Series. My keen interest in psychiatric nutrition also informs my holistic (whole-person) approach to helping clients flourish. I love helping my clients to achieve sustainable positive change and well-being!
Hi, I’m Julia, and I’m passionate about helping people find strength, clarity, and balance in their lives. I’ve been working in the field for over twenty years, with experience supporting children, adolescents, adults, seniors, and parents through life’s many transitions. I’m a graduate of Columbia University, where I focused on working with children and families. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside clients from many different backgrounds as they work through both everyday stress and life’s biggest challenges.
I believe the structure of the therapeutic relationship can help people access their inner strengths and promote meaningful change. Therapy gives us space to pause, reflect, and make sense of how the different parts of our lives — our relationships, health, identity, and environment — impact our well-being. Together, we’ll sort through challenges, set realistic goals, and develop strategies that help you feel more grounded and empowered.
