Hi! My name is Jillian and I am a licensed social worker. I work primarily with adults and young adults (18+) to help manage topics such as anxiety, stress and life transitions. I also have a strong background in supporting those who may be navigating medical challenges like chronic or terminal illness.
I have 45 years of experience and specialize in many areas of expertise - addictions, LGBTQ+ mood disorders, trauma, grief, workplace issues to name a few.. I am a total insurance based practice and slide scale if necessary. Therapy is a process of self healing , discovery, growth and positive change. I try to promote a relaxed, open empathic experience with support and feedback. Prior to a first visit , I will do a 15 minute free consultation to see if we are a good fit. If we schedule an appointment, I will find out insurance benefits because I like all financial expectations out of the way so that it does not take time out of the session. Forms and consents are also sent via email prior to the session, so that any " business" needs are out of the way.
Hello and thank you for taking a moment to get to know me! I’m a dedicated therapist with extensive experience across the lifespan, working with clients as young as toddlers to older adults well into their 90s. I hold a master’s in clinical counseling and mental health and am advancing my training in a PhD program in Psychology. My clinical journey spans all levels of care from inpatient settings to outpatient therapy where I have supported individuals, couples, and families through a wide range of mental health and substance use challenges. I specialize in working with complex diagnoses and am deeply committed to addressing difficult issues rather than avoiding them. I bring a holistic approach as an individual, family, and couples’ therapist, creating a compassionate and empowering space where clients feel truly seen and supported. I have worked extensively with mental health, trauma, relationship dynamics, and substance use, always striving to help clients build resilience, regain confidence, and reconnect with themselves and loved ones. My aim is to promote lasting change by helping clients challenge unhelpful patterns, strengthen emotional connections, and reclaim agency in their lives. I’m honored to walk alongside each person and family on their unique path toward healing and growth.
I’m a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a background in both medical and behavioral health care. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in real-world experience—helping clients feel understood while working together toward meaningful change.
My professional journey has included years of practice across inpatient, community, and outpatient settings, where I’ve supported individuals and families navigating mental health challenges, substance use recovery, and life transitions. I value creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can explore their goals and develop strategies for wellness and resilience.
I believe effective care blends clinical knowledge with empathy, respect, and open communication. My goal is to meet you where you are, honor your unique story, and help you move toward a more balanced and fulfilling life.
I thought that I chose this profession; as it turns out, this profession chose me. I was meant to be a social worker. As a child, I remember thinking that there was a reason why people behaved a certain way and I wanted to know the root cause of that particular behavior. I have consistently met people where they are. I have worked with a diverse population of varying socioeconomic backgrounds and ages. I received my Master's degree in social work from Long Island University in 2008. I
