Hi, I'm Linda. I'm a licensed mental health counselor who works with adolescents, adults, couples, and families to help them navigate relationship challenges, life transitions, trauma, grief, loss, and mood disruptions. I obtained my Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from SUNY New Paltz and specialize in couples work, utilizing an Emotionally Focused Therapy approach.
I am a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I am also a certified Pediatric Primary Care Mental Health Specialist. Working closely with children and young adults in Western New York for the past few years led me to expand these services to those of college years. Understanding and addressing issues that can arise from being away from home and family for the first time, academia and related stressors.
In my practice I believe in integration of mind and body to provide the healing strategies to overcome depression, anxiety, trauma, mood lability, addiction, relationship with food and difficult life transitions. Sometimes people feel stuck in old patterns of behavior and weighed down by previous negative experiences. I focus on providing clinical support to clients who would like to achieve higher potential in their life, career, sports and overall life balance and well being.
I am able to provide psychological evaluations for bariatric surgeries and clinical support through the process of weight loss, changes in life style and relationship with food. I understand that every person is unique in their needs. I tailor my approach to each individual needs and focus on mind and body connection as well relationship with food and its effect on mood and energy.
As a former competitive athlete, I also assist athletes with providing them with mental tools to perform at their highest level or coming back from their sport-related injuries.
Hi everyone! My name is Amira and I received my Forensic Mental Health Counseling master's degree from John Jay College of Criminal Justice and also obtained a certification in victimology studies. My specialties areas are substance abuse, addictions, depression, anxiety, personality disorders, and LGBTQ related issues.
Most of my clients would describe me as an empath who is warm, caring, and non-judgmental. I often hear, that speaking with me is like speaking with a best friend. I utilize my education, experience, training and education to support you, and the situations/issues you face. I have an ecumenical spiritual belief system, which can be brought into session at your request. As a member of the LGBT+ community, being sober, and over coming clinical depression have only contributed to my therapeutic approach. I look forward to getting to know you, and working with you for the best possible outcome. Please contact me should you have issue with finding an available time to accommodate your schedule. I will do what I can to help you find a mutually agreed appointment.
