I think counseling helps clarify life's challenges and opens the door to change. My mission is to partner with you as you navigate through personal or family issues. I balance several roles as a therapist, educator, advocate, mother, wife, and Christian. I aim to practice wisdom, accountability, and kindness daily. Seeing life through possibility motivates me, and I'm eager to help you achieve your aspirations.
Hello and welcome! I’m Toni LaZurs, and I’m excited to meet you.
I’m originally from New Orleans and grew up in Southern California. I earned my B.A. in Criminal Justice (with minors in Sociology and Psychology) and later an M.A. in Social Sciences from CSU Fullerton. After teaching and advising students, I discovered my passion for counseling, which led me to earn an M.Ed. in Counseling from Sam Houston State University. I’m now a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor in Texas.
I’ve spent the past 14 years working with students with learning differences and building my private practice. I primarily support teens and young adults navigating challenges at school, home, or through family changes, and I also coach recent graduates facing career uncertainty.
I’m a mom to twin daughters (age 30) and enjoy spending time with them and my mom, who lives with me. In my free time, I love reading, movies, jazz and hip hop, shopping, and bowling.
I look forward to meeting you!
I am an immigrant who is familiar with the barriers a person faces in the process of acculturation y puedo comunicarme con usted en espanol. I work with juveniles and adults dealing with trauma, depression, anxiety, emotional regulation, and conduct problems to include sexually problematic behaviors. Furthermore, I worked in a behavioral hospital setting with active duty and military veterans, dealing with PTSD, depression, anxiety and addictions. I am certified in EMDR y estoy a su servicio.
As your potential therapist, I view my role in your life as a collaborative one. We often hold the answers to our problems; I help you bring them to light. To clients, I refer to it as being your eyes while you struggle to see. Over the years, I’ve discovered a love for working with adolescents, domestic violence victims, and trauma survivors. I believe my empathy and life experiences have morphed me into the therapist I am today. Whatever you may be struggling with today, I congratulate you on the first step: listening to your body and seeking professional help.
Several factors go into finding a right-fit therapist for you. Research suggests that a strong therapeutic alliance results in more positive treatment outcomes. I encourage you to schedule a phone consultation with myself or other potential therapists. Choosing someone you feel comfortable with is your second and most important step.
The reality is, we have ONE life, why not live it fully? I believe challenges help us grow. You and only you are the key holder to your happiness. Whether you lost it or don’t know what to do with it; our work together will help you find it!

As a Christ follower, I know we all were uniquely created and divinely designed to help one another.
Following my faith, family is my next priority. I enjoy spending time with my husband and my twin girls.
It is my heartfelt desire to help you get back to enjoying LIFE.
I was born and raised in San Antonio and proudly served in the U.S. Army, where I developed a strong sense of discipline, resilience, and a deep commitment to serving others. As a Veteran, I bring a unique perspective and a nuanced understanding of military culture to my counseling work.
Outside the therapy room, I enjoy spending weekends with my family—especially cheering on my son at his baseball games. These moments remind me of the importance of connection, joy, and presence, all of which I strive to bring into the counseling process.
I became a counselor to be a steady, grounded presence for those on the path of healing. My approach centers on fostering growth, resilience, and inner peace. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and provide specialized support for individuals navigating trauma, grief, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
